Welcome to The Rana’S Kitchen

11 Pier St, Aberystwyth SY23 2LJ, United Kingdom

General Info

If you’re wandering around Aberystwyth late in the evening and craving something satisfying yet easygoing, The Rana’S Kitchen at 11 Pier St is one of those takeout spots that quietly wins you over. It’s not trying too hard-and that’s exactly its charm. The place leans into a relaxed, welcoming vibe where grabbing dinner feels effortless, whether you’re on your own or with a small group of friends.

What stands out right away is how flexible the experience feels. On one visit, I popped in for a quick solo dining stop after a long day, and it hit the spot perfectly. Another time, I noticed families with kids comfortably picking up their orders, which says a lot about how approachable the menu and atmosphere are. It’s the kind of restaurant where no one feels out of place, whether you’re in a rush or just easing into a late-night food run.

Speaking of the menu, it keeps things simple but satisfying. One surprisingly memorable highlight is their Snickers treat. It adds a fun, indulgent twist to the overall experience-something sweet and familiar that rounds off a savory dinner nicely. It’s those little touches that make the place feel more thoughtful than you might expect from a typical takeout restaurant.

The service style matches the setting: straightforward and efficient. You don’t have to wait long, which is ideal if you’re grabbing dinner on the go. At the same time, there’s enough warmth in the interaction to make you feel like a returning guest rather than just another order number. That balance is hard to get right, but The Rana’S Kitchen manages it naturally.

Another thing worth noting is how well it caters to different types of visitors. It’s good for groups who want a casual bite without the fuss of a sit-down place, yet it’s equally suited for those quiet, solo evenings when you just want something comforting. Late-night availability also makes it a reliable option when most other locations have already closed.

From a reviewer’s perspective, this is the kind of spot that grows on you. It may not shout for attention, but after a couple of visits, it becomes one of those dependable go-to choices. The combination of easy service, a friendly atmosphere, and simple menu highlights makes The Rana’S Kitchen a solid pick for anyone exploring dining options in Aberystwyth.

What customers say?

“ The food is very good and delicious. The delivery guy is a very professional and humble person. ”

- Ravneet Kaur -

“ The wings were freshly prepared, and the pizza base was expertly cooked and fresh. ”

- Abdul Haseeb -

“ Best fried chicken in town. Usually need to wait 15 minutes before the chicken is ready but it's worth it, chicken is well-spiced and tasty. Would love to come if they have a dine-in restaurant, but for takeaway it's still great. ”

- Ahmad Rizky Umar -

“ I am currently eating it, and if was so good I had to stop and write a full 5 star review. the delivery driver was so sweet, the tandoori chicken was so flavourful and honestly it looked incredible. My partners Pathia curry was spicy, sweet and slightly sour. absolutely delicious, felt like a meal rather than a simple take out. 5/5 ”

- Lucy Christopher -

“ I have only ever had Rana’s on a night out (while sober though!) and it perfectly hits the spot every time. Open late, generous portions and brilliant food. I’ve never been diss appointed. As the night goes on it gets very popular with quite heavily intoxicated people but tbh with food this good I can’t get upset at people wanting to buy it. 10/10 ”

- Jinn -

“ A really good takeaway, which since we found it probably go to too often! The fried chicken is flavourful, moist and the batter is crisp and not at all soggy and undercooked. Our favourite are the drumsticks (ten drumsticks for two people is just the right size for a treat!) The only criticism I have is that the last time we ordered my partner's salad was forgotten in his burger. ”

- Katherine Duffus -

“ Good food and the staff are friendly prob best takeaway in Aber ”

- Ro Roy -

“ Fantastic pizza. Had a hot & spicy last night as a New Years Eve treat. Really enjoyed it, probably the best pizza in town. Toppings tucked under the cheese, the way it should be. Cheers guys and see you soon ”
